OS 2.8, built on the reliable Spectrum OS foundation, is a feature-rich update designed for the LiteDimmer Spectrum AC600. With the addition of Streaming ACN (sACN) and Art-Net protocols, Spectrum OS 2.8 offers the most advanced communication protocols available.
The built-in network switch provides serial connectivity via etherCON or Ethernet cables with a choice of four dimming curves, giving you complete control over the intensity of the fixture. Spectrum OS 2.8 adapts to your workflow, and like all LiteGear products, Spectrum OS is backed by our best-in-class customer support. Spectrum OS 2.8 is only compatible with the LiteDimmer Spectrum AC600.
Streaming ACN (sACN)
In Spectrum OS 2.8, Streaming ACN (E1.31) is fully implemented in the LiteDimmer Spectrum AC600. This standard Ethernet-based protocol efficiently transports DMX universes over the network and eliminates the need for a DMX gateway. Known for its ease of use, sACN allows you to quickly and easily configure and connect multiple devices, such as the AC600, to a lighting network. The dimmer can be configured to search for sACN, Art-Net, or both signals on the connected network. sACN is supported by most professional lighting consoles or lighting control software and works seamlessly with the AC600 dimmer.
Art-Net
Spectrum OS2.8 lets you choose your preferred Ethernet-based protocol. Art-Net 4, like sACN, efficiently transports DMX universes over the network and eliminates the need for a DMX gateway. An additional advantage of Art-Net is its ability to provide bidirectional communication between devices using both DMX lighting data and RDM. The AC600 is easy to configure using menu settings to select the Art-Net network, subnet, and universe. Using RDM over Art-Net is a great way to remotely control all AC600 dimmer settings. Art-Net/sACN Gateway
In Spectrum OS 2.8, the Art-Net and sACN gateway fully leverages the built-in network switch and 5-pin DMX hardware on the AC600. The gateway converts Art-Net or sACN lighting data to DMX512 and outputs the signal via 5-pin DMX XLR ports. This allows for Ethernet-based connectivity to the AC600 and daisy-chain connections with standard 5-pin DMX, reducing the amount of networking equipment required in an installation. This feature means fewer cables and allows you to create virtually any network layout you desire.
