The City of Stockholm awarded Sundin Designers Sweden under the direction of Per Sundin the temporary lighting project for Stockholm Concert Hall facades for Nobel Prize Week 2010.
In previous years, Sundin had illuminated the front surface of the concert hall with such satisfactory results that this year the City asked them to illuminate the entire building. Most of the time, SGM Ribalta have been used indoor and outdoor with a very good result.
Sundin Designers have worked with SGM Ribalta LED to create the Nobel banquet indoor lighting as well as the exterior of the city hall previously and to great success. Therefore, in developing lighting for the Concert Hall for the Nobel project it was logical to chose Ribalta for their quality, reliability, brightness, color mix and availability.
The blue Concert Hall at Hötorget (the Haymarket) in central Stockholm is one of Sweden's great architectural masterpieces. Opened in 1926, it was designed by architect Ivar Tengbom during a period of expansion in the capital. The Concert Hall was built to house what is now the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and to serve as an arena for the Nobel Prize Ceremony and other such formal occasions.
