Following the successful introduction of the LA-AES3 card and LA-PANEL AES3 last year, L-ACOUSTICS informs that the LA8 amplified controller and the L-ACOUSTICS K standard are evolving and will support AES/EBU digital audio as a standard feature.
This change on LA8 and LA-RAK series will be effective on May 1st, 2011.
From this date:
- All LA8 amplified controllers will be shipping with a pre-mounted LA-AES3 card
- All LA-RAK EMPTY will be shipping with a pre-mounted LA-PANELAES3
- All LA-RAKS will be shipping with LA8/LA-AES3 and the LA-PANELAES3
The LA4 is not affected by this change and the LA-AES3 card remains optional for this amplified controller.
Main features of the AES3 card include:
- One AES/EBU input, compliant with AES3, AES11 and IEC 60958 (S/PDIF) specifications, ESD protected
- Seamless AES/EBU to analogue input automatic fallback option, with constant delay
- High-quality hardware sample rate converter accepting program sampled from 44.1 kHz up to 192 kHz
- Adjustable gain: - 12.0 dB to + 12.0 dB by 0.1 dB steps
- One AES/EBU thru, electronically buffered with failsafe relay, ESD protected
- Maximum cable length: up to 300 m (with certified cables dedicated to AES/EBU transport)
- One USB port (reserved for future applications)
To ensure standardized inventories, existing LA8 and LA-RAK can be upgraded with LA-AES3 cards and LA-PANELAES3 panels.
